Wedding Photography Harewood House
V Photography are incredibly proud to have been second shooters for the fantastic 123 Photography for Laura and Owen’s wedding on 29th March 2014 n Yorkshire. On hand for the day was our very own Venetia Ingram working alongside Daniel Thubron from 123 Photography.
The weather on the day was perfect and we were very lucky to have been able to shoot in some of the most enviable locations that showcase just how stunning the Yorkshire countryside truly is.
We began our day at the bride and groom’s home where the groom, his best men and ushers were preparing for the day ahead. We were greeted by six handsome chaps all looking dapper in their morning suits. The atmosphere was surprisingly calm and the groom was happy and relaxed, obviously content in the knowledge that he was about to marry the love of his life.
We had lots of fun taking pictures of the guys on the lawns behind the bride and groom’s home. They were an absolute joy to photograph, very natural and relaxed in front of the camera and, in true boy style, very jovial!
We then hightailed it over to the bride’s parent’s home to photograph the bridal preparations. Again arriving to meet a very calm and relaxed bride who greeted us in her dressing gown, hair and makeup already perfect, holding a sparkling glass of champagne – this lady prepared in style!
We went ahead and took various “background” shots of the bridal shoes, jewellery, bouquets, etc while the bride went to slip into her wedding dress. When ready we were called up to the bride’s room to take pictures of her final preparations.
As you can see the bride looked breathtaking. She wore a stunning strapless gown over-layed with lace, complete with pearl hair slide and flowing veil. The look of pride on her father’s face when he saw her for the first time said it all. We then assembled the bridal party in the lovely gardens and proceeded with traditional pictures of the bridal party before racing off to the church to ensure we were ready for the bride’s arrival.
We arrived at The Church of Immaculate Conception, Sicklinghall, just in time for the bride’s arrival. Wearing a radiant smile she stepped out of her vintage wedding car to be greeted by her waiting bridesmaids. Her very proud father took her arm and, closely followed by the bridal party, they headed into the church for the ceremony.
The look of adoration on the groom’s face as his bride walked up the aisle was unmistakable and he couldn’t wait to greet her with a loving kiss. Both were relaxed throughout the moving ceremony, which included readings from their nearest and dearest and a classical performance by the groom’s sister who sang Ave Maria. Having made their vows to one another and exchanged wedding rings, the church erupted with applause as the happy couple were pronounced man and wife. It was then time for the post-ceremony traditional photographs.
Following the post-ceremony photographs we headed over to the very grand Harewood House, which boasts stunning gardens and amazing views across the beautiful Yorkshire countryside – what an amazing setting for a wedding shoot! The selection of backdrops for photographs was endless, we were truly spoilt for choice.
We got to work taking a variety of pictures of the happy couple and their guests in the spectacular grounds of Harewood, while everyone was busy enjoying the sunshine sipping prosecco on the terrace looking out across breathtaking country views.
The bride and groom, along with their guests, then moved down to a private courtyard to enjoy canapes and more prosecco while we continued to capture every moment we could to ensure this lovely couple had an abundance of memories of what had been an amazing day so far.
Before the wedding breakfast we wanted to take advantage of our location, so we decided to whisk the newlyweds off to the lake to take some stunning pictures of just the two of them.
As the late afternoon air grew a little colder we returned to the courtyard for the Wedding Breakfast, preceded by hilarious speeches given by the two best men (which included some rather interesting projected photographs of the groom!), the father of the bride and of course the groom. We were on hand to catch shots of the guests laughing throughout and raising their glasses in toast to the happy couple.
It was then time to allow the guests to enjoy the wedding breakfast in peace while we took a well earned break. to take a sneak peek through the images we’d taken throughout the day. Shortly afterwards everyone headed down to the bar which overlooked the courtyard where the evening reception began. The drinks were flowing, the band was in full swing and the bride and groom headed to the dance floor for what appeared to be a very well rehearsed first dance as man and wife. It was the end of a very long, yet amazing day for both V Photography‘s Venetia and 123 Photography’s Daniel, who were both thrilled to be able to share Laura and Owen’s special day and create lasting memories they can enjoy for years to come.
We wish Laura and Owen all the very best for a long and happy marriage!
